Close to my home is a freshwater lough that contains some ancient Irish settlements. You can google ‘crannogs’ for more info. Quite interesting and a privilege to have close by. There is a wide diversity of flora & fauna as well as a healthy fish population in the lough itself. Recently drained by around 80% to accommodate much needed repairs to the drainage systems. It has since refilled and is ready for a summer of vibrance and activity. Today I saw quite a lot of frogspawn gathering in the water holes along with numerous small birds of all descriptions fluttering from branch to branch collecting insects as they went. Thanks for your continued interest, stay tuned for more visual adventures. Enjoy your free time.
